ABOUT US
During the year 2020/2021, IGNIS is developing an autonomous vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL) capable of live video transmission with a long range and high efficiency.
We envision to support firemen fight wildfires at a large scale. Therefore, we are actively collaborating with Swiss aviation company Dufour Aerospace and Swiss Federal Office for Defense among others to build a reliable and futuristic prototype.
We are a team of 5 mechanical and 3 electrical engineers from ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology).

OUR TEAM
Pelayo Garcia
Thanks to his organizational skills and willingness not to watch lectures, Pelayo is the perfect
motivated team leader. His love for nature and technology were key factors in the origin of the
project.
Jan Morlock
Together with Pelayo, Jan brought up the brilliant idea of this project and proposed it to the
department. Now that this phase is over, his new hobby is to encourage (and annoy) other team
members to test.
Interests: Writing (love) letters to companies
Martin Mekkattu
Martin, our In-house Philosopher. He likes to put crazy ideas into other people's heads. He is fun-
loving, down to earth and very much optimist. You can expect homely behaviour & dedicated up-
bringing from him.
Safras Rawfal
A little messy, unorganized and chaotic, but he gets the job done. Not only on time but with a
couple of seconds to spare.
Mirco Vandeventer
Even though he sees himself as an introvert, Mirco is an engaged person. Besides studying
mechanical engineering he is a volunteer firefighter, gives volleyball lessons and goes to church.
While he loves what he is doing, he still sometimes likes it best to just find a comfortable place and
read a good story.
Lukas Brändli
Lukas loves nature and has a big heart for animals. He enjoys reading, playing games with his friends
and building and flying FPV (first-person view) drones. When he puts on his FPV goggles, he looks just like the nerd he truly is.
Hong Chul Nam
Call him Hong Chul Nam (not Ishmael). A persistent pursuer of deep knowledge. A macroscopic
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious nerd with proven certificates. A microscopic energetic talky-talky of
all trades. A massive serial neuron cell killer. An enthusiastic collector of every receipt. A chauvinistic
believer of science and logic. Fear him not, cause he won’t bite.
Silvan Stadelmann
Silvan loves nature and fresh air. Beside his job and volunteer work in student associations he is keen
and motivated to bring this project forward. After all, the only limit is our imagination!
